  23. And as for peeving about people peeving about problems that aren't really
  24. problems in your book - well, again, no one's ever done it before -and
  25. it certainly is a legitimate peeve, especially since your own personal
  26. problems (like having to drive on icy roads) are so earth shattering and
  27. unique!!

  29. We at a.p. are all impressed with your ability to withstand these horrifying
  30. experiences and still have the strength of mind and character to write a witty,
  31. insightful post about them.

  34. my dad the day after Xmas.  It was the first time I'd seen him in about 10
  35. months, and I only met with him because the split-up is leaving me dead
  36. broke and he's rolling in the stuff.  He said he'd to anything to be supportive
  37. to me in these trying times.

  41. I ended up not staying for lunch because it only took about ten minutes for
  42. hime to tell me I was a selfish, manipulative piece of shit - this is not
  43. in any way unique.  I'm sure parents say this to their kids all the time. I
  44. know it wasn't the first time I heard it from my dad.

  46. What was unique, was his next remark, which was that he wishes he'd had
  47. a vasectomy before I'd been born.

  49. Just out of curiosity, has anyone else on this group ever had someone tell
  50. them that having part of their ManTool(TM) removed would be small price to
  51. pay for their non-existence?  Or am I correct in assuming that this is a
  52. fairly uncommon occurrance?

  54. Ob!Peeve1: (and believe me, I ain't joking about the Ob): One week till I
  55. get to California!!  And see old friends, and new ones, none of whom have
  56. ever expressed such sentiments to me, and most of whom actaully seem to
  57. think the fact that I exist is a Good Thing.

  59. Ob!Peeve2: Getting highly appropriate Xmas gifts from friends.  My soon-to-
  60. be-ex-husband gave me the one thing that will assure that I will function 
  61. just as well without him - one of those gripper jar opener thingies.  And
  62. our own Mikey sent me gourmet coffee & a small bottle of Irish Cream, bless
  63. his soul.

  65. Ob!Peeve3:  I FINALLY GOT A ROOMATE!!!  He's really cool, plays keyboards
  66. & synthesizers, highly influenced by Bach & Einsturzende Neubauten, is of
  67. Moslem/Soutern Baptist stock & has rejected religion in a most intriguing 
  68. way, and best of all brews his own beer!
