  24. Peeve: smokers. My partner smokes. Diehard fanatic. I don't like
  25. it. I especially don't like being glared at when other diners at
  26. a restaurant notice that my partner smokes, and is indeed going
  27. to light up that killer cigarette just as their table is being
  28. served dessert.

  30. I used to be of the opinion that smokers should just fuck off
  31. outta restarants, but now I'm tempered by my partner's problem.

  33. Tonight we went to a Thai restaurant 'on spec' [i.e. without
  34. booking], and got their to find it almost packed out. When I
  35. asked for a table for two, the waitperson said, 'If you wouldn't
  36. mind being placed in the smoking section ...' Needless to say my
  37. partner was beside herself with glee.

  44. In Oz, all public buildings [government owned] are non-smoking
  45. areas. It has tremendously improved the work environment, and
  46. many people just gave up, rather than trek down outside to have a
  47. fag every now and again.

  49. Restaurants are getting more and more 'down' on smokers, which my
  50. partner finds annoying, and therefore, I have to do, since she
  51. refuses to go to restaurants that have a non-smoking policy, no
  52. matter how good their food is.

  54. !Peeve, my fave restaurant [The Jehangir] has super efficient
  55. smoke sucking air conditioning, and doesn't mind smokers at all.
