  21. Perhaps this is so obvious no one has posted it, or perhaps someone has
  22. and I just had my eyes closed (a possibility) but I haven't run into
  23. anyone who seriously claims that every word of their ritual and practice
  24. comes from millenia ago; there's nuts out there, I know, I just haven't
  25. run into them personally.

  27. Wicca/Paganism/Witchcraft all revive things that were held in high
  28. regard by old pre-xtian religions.  They enjoy sexuality -- or purport
  29. to -- are polytheistic when they are theistic at all, mostly, try to
  30. connect as much as possible with the progression of the seasons, and try
  31. to regard humans as another flavor of animal, which is what we are.
  32. While the wands, swords, and colors of the candles are new revivals, and
  33. while the Books of Shadows are printed on xerox paper, the basic flavor
  34. survives.  Wicca is a modern religion that has its foundation in what we
  35. know of old traditions, and I've never seen anything that makes me think
  36. differently.
