  19. CUUPs (Covenant of Unitarian Univeralist Pagans) is a loose affiliation 
  20. of Wiccan and other pagan groups within the UU church.  There is a national
  21. organization which publishes a (theoretically quarterly) newsletter, and
  22. individual chapters associated with various UU congregations.  (There
  23. are other congregations who will pretend they've never heard of CUUPs...
  24. UU churches vary a good deal.)

  26. The chapters I know of firsthand function as open worship circles,
  27. sponsoring public full moon and Sabbat rituals, plus some workshops and
  28. discussion groups.  The chapter I belong to also gives one church
  29. service per year at the UU church (at Lammas).  Our 'tradition' is an
  30. eclectic Wicca with borrowings from everything that doesn't run away
  31. quickly enough.

  33. CUUPs doesn't require that you be UU, only that you be able to get along
  34. with Unitarians (only a problem if organized religion of any kind gives
  35. you the heebie-jeebies).  It's a good place for a newcomer to get a
  36. taste of the Craft and meet people in the pagan community.
