- Well, considering that the earliest Gospel (Mark) is technically ended at
- 16:8, with vs 9-20 being added on only later, and that the alleged post-
- resurrection appearances may have been invented, it is no wonder that the
- modern churches try to play it down.

- On the other hand, it is often said that the Roman Church focuses on the
- death of Jesus, and the Protestants on his life, but the Orthodox Church
- proclaims his Resurrection. I must admit that the Easter Liturgy, sung
- in traditional manner, is more beautiful than anything else I have
- experienced. The Kontakion goes: "Christ is risen from the dead,
- trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing
- life." The icon is similarly meaningful. (These words coming from one
- who is not a Christian, mind you.)
