- As the terms are used in anthropology, they mean the following;
- hopefully, I do not have them switched.

- animism: the belief that eveything in the universe has a spirit
- associated with it -- that each rock and piece of dirt has a "soul" of
- some sort.

- animatism: that there exists a central motivating, moving force for
- everything in the universe, that need not be personalized or sentient.
