- Greetings :-)- (A Maori warrior)
-
- I knew something was amiss. I could feel it in the bones, in fact, I had
- a premonition. But never mind, here is the book that I missed out from my
- earlier posting:-
-
- 19) TIBETAN SAGE by Tuesday Lobsang Rampa
-
- Gosh, I have never counted the "old man's" books until I compiled this
- for the post. That makes the grand total number to 19, isn't it.
-
- It seems there are some people out there old enough to have read
- TLR. It is indeed gratifying that I have not been talking in vain, like
- some rantings of a madman, engrossed in his own little world. So, for
- those who responded, thanks a bunch, it really kind'a make me feel nice
- inside :-).
-
- People who read TLR are invariably affected by his books one way or
- another. I wish I could keep this thread alive for a little while longer,
- so if there is anyone who would like to share, on the net or in private,
- what has affected them, how and why, perhaps the discussion would prove
- useful, if not entertaining. (My personal mailing address is still open, if
- you have caught it in the "Children of the **" posting.)
-
- So, to start the, ehm, ball, rolling, here's my story:
-
- One day, when I was a teenager, a good friend of mine came to visit
- me. He is a wild kind of guy, in his reading habits, I mean, because he
- reads EVERYTHING, absolutely! He came to share with me some of the stuff he's
- been reading, and there is this little mysterious thing which was intriguing
- him at that time, called "telepathy". He was fascinated with the possibility
- of communication by mental thought, and of course, he showed me the book
- which has something to say about "telepathy". It was "The Third Eye", by
- TLR.
-
- From there onwards, there was no turning back. For him it was just
- a mere curiosity, but it meant something different for me. We used to nickname
- him the "lobster guy" irreverently, couldn't quite make out if the old man's
- name "Tuesday" was real or fictional.
-
- Luckily for me, I wasn't schooled enough in material science to
- treat the stuff as nonsensical heresy. I reacted by instinct. Deep within me,
- I remain convinced that the old man was talking about Truth as he understood
- it. Even after reading "You-Forever", and practising his instructions on
- astral projection, I couldn't feel a thing at all, yet, my faith in him
- remains strong. (Just because you can't prove a thing doen't mean that
- it is not true)
-
- Some of the THINGS he did SAY, could really STR-E-----------T-CH
- the credulity of our normally accepted worldview to its bursting point (ouch!)
- even at our current level of learning and understanding (which is not much
- really :-)). However, in the subject matter of which this newsgroup is
- concerned, I know that he had come out "clean".
-
- I am very happy to say, (even if this is just a bunch of electronic
- ones and zeroes) from my position now, my faith in his Truthfulness is
- completely vindicated (otherwise it would be embarassing as hell). Of course,
- I couldn't vouch for EVERYTHING he said, but in the matter of astral projection,
- the old man really knew what he was talking about.
-
- In an Age of Disbelief, he had come to light a candle to dispel
- some of the darkness. Indeed, his books pointed out a way toward freedom
- from the material trap. For that, I am eternally grateful...
-
- Nowadays, the situation is very much improved. We are in an age
- of open and tolerant beliefs. It would have been inconceivable, at the
- old man's time, that so many people would have started on a search for
- personal meaning and transformation, and yet it is happening now. Thanks
- to technology and progress, we are now able to communicate electronically,
- and talk about the "taboo" subjects of yester-years in an open, sincere
- and inquiring manner.
