- I wasn't so much bashing ADA as the idea of a "general purpose" language.
- The first attempt at a GPL was COBOL, which turned out to be great for
- some uses, awful for others. It is interesting, BTW, that Grace Murray
- Hopper, the main creator of COBOL, promoted the idea of having many
- special purpose languages, rather than some mega-kludge that would almost
- work for everything.

- At the same time...C++ seems to have wandered into becoming a general purpose
- language by default. From the little bit that I've played at C++, it seems
- to have the potential.
