  13. Robert Mathieson says that all of the Crowley material in the documents he's 
  14. studied were from published Crowley material.  This was in response to Josh's
  15. statement that GBG paid AC to write some of the BoS material.  There is a very
  16. simple explanation for the myth that GBG paid AC to write the BoS.  GBG 
  17. *bought* an OTO charter from AC shortly before AC's death.  This is clearly
  18. explained in Doreen Valiente's _The Rebirth of Witchcraft_.  Anyone who is
  19. making claims about the early days of Gardnerianism really needs to read this
  20. book before saying anything.  Doreen was GBG's second High Priestess, and the
  21. person who wrote or rewrote most of what is in modern Gardnerian BoS's.
