- As far as running 351C's in NASCAR, don't know. I have read about someone
- running one in an '85 Mustang GT. I believe it was a 2 bolt main block,
- blueprinted/balanced, 3/4 inch roller cam, a *big* 4 barrel (Dominator?)
- The car was featured in Hotrod, around 1989, I think. I believe the caption
- said something about it being the first normally-aspirated, non-nitroused
- GT to run in the 9's. 1/4 mi. time was something like 9.97 or so.
-
- True, it's only running a quarter mile at a time, but that's going to be me
- main application, so I'm not too worried about cylinder wall thickness.
-
- If it blows up, I'll go for the 351 SVO - which sells for $665 at Summit
- (0.060 over block. The other ones are about twice that price). Thinking
- about the amount of money I've sunk into this project over the years, I wish
- I'd just done that to begine with - the 4 bolt mains would be kind of nice...
-
- As far as power from the 302 vs. 351C, now, why would I go to all the trouble
- of taking a beat '66 Mustang coupe, putting it together from scratch (and
- credit cards:)), notching the shock towers, etc.? Now where will that 351
- go... <grin>
-
- Thanks for the injection info (John DeArmond [sp?] supplied info?)
