- -> I was wondering which parts off of a 302 would work on a 351 Windsor?
- -> (distributor, manifolds, etc.) Thanks.
-
- Valve covers, air cleaner, exhaust manifolds (except for pre '75 351),
- heads (for post '75 and 351K), distributor CAP, dipstick. Darned
- little, in other words.
-
- The following parts do NOT interchange:
-
- Flexplate/flywheel (balance)
- distributor (different diameter)
- oil pump (longer, takes different size drive)
- intake manifold (wider)
- oil pan (wider)
- harmonic balancer (different balance)
- rods (longer, bigger rod bearings)
- pistons (different pin height)
- timing cover (no provision for front oil fill; mismatch at
- block)
-
- The 351W water pump is nominally different, but 351W and 302 pumps
- appear to interchange.
-
-
- Now, for you Australian fans, there's the Australian 302 from the '70s,
- which was a derivative of the Aussie-built 351 Clevelands. It is
- essentially a destroked 351C, and might be considered a high-deck BOSS
- 302 with 6.02 inch rods. They import 5.0 Windsors from the US now.
-
- For you guys running in the 5-liter classes, an Aussie 302 crank in a
- 351C block could give you a huge advantage over the Windsors.
