- Well It seems that I have the opportunity to review the new Turbo
- SFII for all the reading hordes. Some of this has been mentioned
- in another post.

- I played it this saturday down at the Hazard Center in San Diego.
- The arcade is Yellow Brick Road which is owned by Capcom. They
- got the Turbo in on Friday.

- The changes are for the good part logical, interesting and fun.
- In general the whole game is sped up about 20%. (rough estimate).
- Also the charge time for charging characters is reduced.
- Here is a character by character list of all the changes that I
- noticed.

- Ken/Ryu
- Both characters can now do spin kicks while ascending
- in a jump. NOT while coming down. If you jump forward
- the spin kick will go forward. If you jump backward the
- character will go backward. The higher speed makes
- Ryu's fireball especially viscious.

- New Ken is purple.
- New Ryu is light blue.

- Chun Li
- She can now throw a fireball. This is done by doing a
- Yoga Flame motion. The fireball looks like (read is)
- a blue Dhalsim fireball. The fierce push motion is used
- for the throwing animation.
- Also she can do the helicopter in the air. It is easiest
- to do if you jump off of the wall first. But I speculate
- that the delay during combinations may allow you to do it
- earlier there. Also it initiates much faster.

- New Chun Li is white.

- Blanka
- His new move is done with the Flash kick motion. It is a
- Rolling ball that goes diagonally upward and comes down
- just a little backwards. It will hit for damage on the way
- down as well. There is a slight pause when he finishes.
- You probably won't be able to throw because of the slight
- backward motion but I had no trouble sweeping with Guile.

- New Blanka has blue hair and bright yello body.

- Zangief
- Hitting the bottom three buttons will do the lariet at
- double time. I guess this would be usefull for taking
- out jumping opponents. It seemed to me that Z moved slower
- than during the normal lariet.

- New Zangief is pink. (yuck!)

- Dhalism
- Only played him a couple of times so I'll only mention his
- new move. He can teleport by doing a Dragon Punch motion
- and hitting the three kick buttons simultaneously. I am
- not sure if you can do it with the punch buttons. When I
- did it I always teleported to the opposite side of my
- opponent. The animation for this move is the floating Yoga
- position you get at the end of a round. (I forget if it is
- the winning or losing sequence. He kind of flickers out
- and appears on the other side. It may be possible to
- control where you teleport to.

- New Dhalsim is a ligher shade of brown.

- Guile
- No real grand difference here. The decreased charge time is
- nice and allows the four fierce combo to come out easily.
- Also the -O forward kick (the thrusting knee) seemed to have
- a greater range. Unfortunately they did not eliminate it:(

- New Guile is Blue.

- E. Honda
- The Fat Boy is greatly improved in my estimation. This is
- mostly due to his new special move. It is kind of Gimpy looking
- but can hit three times from close. It is done by doing a Flash
- Kick movement. The animation goes something like this. It
- starts with the first few frames of the torpedo, the head butt
- part. Goes up in the air diagonally with the belly flop.
- Then comes down with the short kick butt move. It is really
- usefull for getting over fireballs and hitting the thrower.
- Also his reduced charge time allows for a Fierce/Torpedo
- combination. I haven't tried this with the new flop move which
- could do more damage:)

- The new Honda has green face paint and orange diaper.

- Sagat
- Again nothing really new. He is faster overall which was
- needed greatly. Also I noticed that the "down time" after
- the Tiger Knee was reduced to almost nothing. (about the
- same as Ken DP down time).

- New Sagat is lighter. (forgot the shorts color).

- Vega
- Only new aspect I noticed is that his roll is one more longer.
- This allow for up to four hits I think. This does not stun all
- time.

- New Vega is black and Green.

- M. Bison
- The only thing I found was a reduction in the number of times
- that the torpedo will hit. I think the max is two, maybe three.

- Forgot the new Bison color.

- Balrog
- No new move for Balrog, just improvements on the old ones.
- The turn-around punch can be charged for up to 4 seconds and
- the damage is proportional. I think the max is near half of
- your life. The sliding punches done with the punch buttons
- will now hit crouched opponents. The kick ones won't.
- Again the new speed is nice.

- Forgot the new Balrog color.

- The computer is also more difficult. The biggest improvement
- is in Balrog. I could not beat him in three credits. They actually
- gave him a brain!
