- The vanishing warship mentioned in regards to Phil. was, I belive, a destroyer.
- According to the story, the ship was being fitted with an experimental
- technology that would make it radar invisible (or even really invisible).
- Accoridng to the story, the ship vanished for some time. There is a movie
- called the Phil. Experiment which is about this (its is fiction and is only
- very loosley based on the story).
- There are many ghost ship legends in New England, alas my books on the
- subject are back home in Maine. New England is a favorite spot of hauntings and
- there are many Native American legends about the area (fearsome beats, ghosts,
- spirits, etc.).I'm going to write my family for any stories they have heard of
- and post them.
