- I remember seeing somewhere (possibly the appendices at the end of The
- Return of the King?) that to most non-dwarves, female dwarves are
- indistinguishable from male dwarves. Add that to the fact that they
- are such a secretive race, then who knows what dwarves were male and which
- were female?
