  24. In Appendix A, at the end of the section on "The House of Eorl", we
  25. read that King Elessar still had considerable work cleaning up the
  26. "hatreds and evils" left by Sauron, and that Eomer, in fulfillment of
  27. the Oath of Eorl, went with him on these battles.  So presumably, any
  28. militarily-minded Rohirrim would have had opportunity to follow his (or
  29. *her*) desires.  Do with this fact what you will ;-)
