  13. I'm musically illiterate when it comes to classical
  14. music, but I've recently become a big fan of DS after
  15. listening to him at a friend's house.  I don't
  16. know who is a good conductor / orchestra for DS.

  18. I have bought two symphonies.  One I like is a
  19. 1982 Berliner Philharmoniker recording of
  20. the Tenth conducted by Herbert Von Karajan.
  21. I like it, but another friend of mine says it
  22. doesn't have the powere that a *good* recording
  23. does.

  25. Another CD I have that I don't care for (although
  26. it is definitely not the music I don't care for
  27. just the production) is of the Eleventh by
  28. the USSR Ministry of Culture Symphony Orchestra
  29. conducted by Gennadi Rozhdestvensky and recorded
  30. in 1983.  I assumed that the Russians would do
  31. DS justice, but apparently not.

  33. Can anyone suggest conductors or orchestras (or
  34. specific recordings) of DS works?  I would be
  35. very appreciative.
