  36. There is a gentleman in my work group who is a devout
  37. Christian, widely regarded as the most serene and joyful
  38. person here.  Several other Christians locally hold him up as
  39. an ideal of love and tolerance.  He and I have been
  40. acquaintances for several years now, and talk frequently about
  41. life, politics and religion.  Recently we got into a
  42. discussion of homosexuality and gay bashing and he produced
  43. this pearl of wisdom, the words of which are seared in my
  44. brain forever as an example of how wrong appearances can be...

  60. He and I still speak, but I don't really think we could ever
  61. be friends.  He may not have said he wanted them dead (He's
  62. far too smart to fall into that trap), but there's not much
  63. difference between that and saying you'd send them off to
  64. Antarctica, now is there?  I'm still not sure what to think
  65. about the Cuba bit, and the food thing is just plain stupid.

  71. Holding gays at arms length and saying "I love you, but hate
  72. what you are and do" isn't love, it's hypocrisy of the worst kind...
