- 1. Wide areas of clearcut in Oregon and Washington, where I live. All
- you need to do is take a flight over the area to see entire square miles
- where no tree stands. Even Mt. St. Helens was not this destructive;
- ash is a good fertilizer.

- 2. If they are planting more than they harvest, then why do they want
- to log old growth forests as well? You said they were planting enough
- for their needs. If that's the case, then why do they feel the need to
- expand into old growth?
