  21. 1.  Wide areas of clearcut in Oregon and Washington, where I live.  All
  22. you need to do is take a flight over the area to see entire square miles
  23. where no tree stands.  Even Mt. St. Helens was not this destructive;
  24. ash is a good fertilizer.

  26. 2.  If they are planting more than they harvest, then why do they want
  27. to log old growth forests as well?  You said they were planting enough
  28. for their needs.  If that's the case, then why do they feel the need to
  29. expand into old growth?

  31. 3.  Decline of timber industry jobs.
