- A while back I ran into something like this on talk.abortion. I admit
- that I initially went overboard in the content of my postings, but I got
- flamed worse after I tried to tone down my articles. I even got flamed
- after acknoweldging the need for compromise and attempting to find
- common ground. There were even a couple of users who expressed an
- arrogant, holier-than-thou attitude against college students and newcomers
- to the net, repeatedly questioning the right of 'some people' to have net
- access due to their opinions. They flamed so much that you couldn't even
- tell what side they were one since they were making personal attacks
- almost exclusively. Most of my articles had responses telling me how
- stupid I was or thatI should leave the net until I 'learn proper procedures',
- similar to what happened to Chaney and others, no matter how logical or
- polite my postings
-
- No one kicked me out either, I left voluntarily as well. I had gotten
- tired of the pointless flaming and the occasional nasty e-mail, sent
- anonymously of course.
