- A Slightly Revised and User-Friendly MST Episode Guide
-
- The following is pretty much the same MST Episode Guide that
- was posted as part of an FAQ, with a few minor changes.
-
- I basically took the list as posted, and converted it into a
- Word Percet Secondary Merge File. Since this format allows the user
- to do such neat things as sort, merge into different forms for
- printing (including adhesive labels for labelling tapes), I figured
- I might as well spread it around in a generic ASCII form.
-
- I converted the file so that most users can simply use their
- Search and replace feature to replace the three brackets ]]] with
- whatever field delimiters are appropriate (such as {END FIELD} in
- Word Perfect). For Word Perfect users, I'd recommend the following
- three search and Replace procedures, in this order:
-
- 1. Replace all Hard Returns ([HRT], the Enter key) with Spaces.
- 2. Replace the string [[[END RECORD]]] with [END RECORD][HRT]
- (Shift-F9, E, and the Enter key).
- 2. Replace each ]]] with [END FIELD][HRT]. (F9, Enter key).
-
- (I should mention that I could have uploaded this in a form
- that was closer to how it originally appeared here. Problem is,
- you'd need to use some macro procedures to reconvert it to a merge
- format, and I don't know how many MSTies out there could do that.)
- The Field Names are as follows:
-
- 1. Show Number
- 2. Broadcast Date
- 3. Movie Title
- 4. Short films
- 5. Pre-show skit
- 6. Invention Exchange: Joel
- 7. Invention Exchange: Mad Scientists
- 8. Host Segment # 1
- 9. Host Segment # 2
- 10. Host Segment #3
- 11. Post-Movie Host Segment
- 12. Notable Details
-
- It might be a good idea if future Episode Lists used this
- form, to make conversion easier. And since Word Perfect fields can
- be of any length, perhaps the song lyrics can be included in future
- versions as a kind of database.
-
- NOTE: I didn't include the early KTMA shows, because
- information was scarce and I wasn't certain whether anyone could
- use it or not. I've also made small changes and additions to some
- of the show descriptions.
-
- Also, I've noticed a discrepancy between two of the first-
- season shows, where the winners of a contest announced on Show 110
- (Name the Avocado Boy on "Robot Holocaust") are named on Show 104
- ("Women of the Prehistoric Planet"). I've let this stand.
