- My favorite _has_ to be the newlyweds wanting to buy a mattress! The logic
- involved in multiplying and dividing the measurements based on the salesman
- is inspired. That sketch has actually gotten me in trouble.
-
- I was sitting next to Kathy Sullivan and Tandy Bagian (look at where I'm from
- Space Cadets to figure out just who those ladies are) at a choir rehearsal
- when the directress handed us an anthem to sing set to the tune of "Jerusalem".
- (That's the tune for "And did those feet, in ancient times, ...; BTW, those
- words are by William Blake.) As soon as the pianist began to play the melody,
- the three of us began to laugh hysterically, and just couldn't stop. We got
- very stern looks from the directress, but she never did try to sing it again.
-
- Come to think of it, I'm _always_ getting in trouble for thinking of skits at
- inopportune moments. Last week, I was an angel in the church pageant. I
- broke into the most unangelic guffaws when I heard the innkeeper's wife say,
- "We have no time to loose."
-
- Ah well, its not as bad as when I was a professor. I would often make up my
- own words for Python songs such as the window washer song and sing them to
- some very surprised circuits students. I would also threaten them with Python
- sketches so that they would turn in their test papers on time. The place
- hasn't been the same since I left to become a rocket scientist. ;-)
-
- I would be interested to know if other people have a hard time keeping a
- straight face in situations which remind them of Python skits. Or am I the
- only idiot plagued with such inappropriate reactions to daily life?
