- In previous discussions regarding viewing WOSAT on laserdisc, it has been
- pointed out (by Mike and others) that one could not see all the subliminals.
- This was due to the disc being in the CLV format and that current players which
- provided frame-step for CLV discs (the top-end players with digital frame
- storage) actually showed alternate frames when stepping.
-
- I have found a new player which appears to solve that problem. The Panasonic
- LX-900 will show you each and every frame in its still-step mode, and do it
- more clearly than any other player I've used so far. For example, in the scene
- where the IRS agent buys Mike's Trek bike, my Pioneer CLD-3030 skips the frame
- which says "4THOSEOFYOU", but the Panasonic LX-900 showed it and every other
- subliminal in this sequence. The LX-900 also offers dual-side play and
- other very nice features. The price is about the same as the model number.
-
- (No, I didn't buy one; I tried it out in the store. The saleswoman was
- fascinated and she said she was going to pull out her store's rental copy
- of WOSAT [I didn't think they had one, but perhaps it was out] and watch the
- whole movie.)
