- I'm afraid I just can't resist the temptation to jump in and contribute my
- two cents' worth. Bear in mind that the Australian dollar has been getting
- progressively devalued as you read this.
-
- I was delighted with the first ever Albedo I read (vol. 2 #4), and my
- delight has increased with every issue I have read since then. At the point
- when I was getting bored with the comic book medium and would gladly have
- thrown it in, *this* comes along and justifies everything I've done. More
- than that, it opened the door into a whole new realm of comics called
- "furries". New life is breathed into comics, and I know that the time and
- dollars I've spent in comic book stores have not been wasted. But of all the
- wonderful titles I have found since then, I have yet to find a comic that
- deserves my praise more wholly than Albedo.
-
- And then I find someone who calls it boring, who charges that it has a slow
- pace. Aye, well maybe it does, but that has never bothered me. I have been
- fortunate enough to have the opportunity to read Command Review 1-3 (thanks
- Sebkha :-)) and I appreciate a title that chooses its own pace, instead of
- feeling compelled to have slug fest every few pages to hold interest. I'm
- not shy of a bit of reading, and I only wish more comic books could attain
- Steve Gallacci's high standards.
-
- Albedo vol. 2 #7 was for me a beautiful work in character study, with
- enchanting artwork, especially EF310 where Captain Arrat introduces his new
- crew. To each his own taste, but Albedo certainly suits mine.
-
- By the way, I also loved the Beatrix Farmer back-up story. Much better than
- the one Mr Gallacci did in Wild Kingdom #1.
-
- Lest anyone thinks me a hopeless fanboy, I'd like to point out an apparent
- break in continuity. In Command Review #2, both Mateoshat and Gillerand are
- said to be dead. If this is the case, I can well understand Cap. Arrat's
- surprise when Mateoschat (with a 'c', but Gallacci has always been free with
- his spelling) pops up and later he mentions Gillerand as being part of his
- crew. These are really only small details, but it does jar a bit when
- characters come back from the dead.
-
- Yours,
-
- Marko.
