  18. I think that the *EVENT* of the twins' arrival was that was one of the
  19. momentous things that coudn't happen while everything was repeating becasue of
  20. the prophesy.  I'm thinking here, so please bear with me.  Since everything
  21. was repeated, even Polgara's lack of children, she COULDN'T have any BECAUSE
  22. of the prophesy being unfulfilled.  So that when the twins did arrive, that
  23. freed many things and allowed (or would proved be a better word?) things to go
  24. along the "natural course", like the Marags to return as a fully-fledged race
  25. again, and the Gods going on thier own ways, with the exception of Eriond who
  26. stayed behind.  So that sort of proved that things were going along the proper
  27. course.  Belgarath talks about this on a hill close to the cottage to Garion
  28. and Durnik.  Then, when one of the twins were born, there was a lot of light
  29. and when the second was born, there was a whole sky of light and then the Gods
  30. all made a last appearance.
