- Like, uh, frinstance whom? Don't say 'Wendy Carlos'. Okay I'm sure
- there are plenty of women who do sweet tinkly winds and water kinds of
- space music. I guess I make an unconscious distinction between such
- fluff and more, uh, cerebral space music. Deux Filles sounds more like
- Jarre or Tangerine Dream. It has a definite testosterone smell about it.

- I happen to have in my grubby little hands a CD titled 'Silence & Wisdom'.
- My friend got it from JB&H Discs and Tapes here in Denver:
- 11961 Alameda Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80228 (303) 989-3210.
- (One of the most complete stores in the world, BTW. I'm sure they would
- be more than willing to ship to you in return for plasticated payment).
-
- In the liner notes, it rambles on about theories of what happened to the
- pair after 1984, when all contact with them was lost. Says the French
- Foreign Legion found a charred cottage with a partially burnt letter
- from them (conveniently singed around the edges so as to preserve
- readability - there is a photo of it), giving rise to the last theory
- about spontaneous human combustion. The liner goes on to say:
-
- "As yet these are merely theories and help is needed desperately. If you
- have any clues or think you might have sighted Deux Filles please do not
- hesitate in contacting us. Please write to:
-
- Trident Music International
- PO Box 2903
- London N1 3NE"
-
- They also say 'Please send SAE (not SASE?) for catalogue'.
-
- I think it is all a scam. Nothing sells music like a good story.
- People are especially fond of listening to dead artists. I think
- they are just trying to move some otherwise okay space music by
- slathering on a bit of lagniappe.
