- oh well
- -------
-
- thanks for coming by
- i know you just came by for your stuff
- but it meant a lot more to me
-
- this apartment
- our apartment
- well i guess it's just my apartment now
- didn't really look the same without you in it
-
- sorry about the mess
- i have been kind of a slob since you left me
- off to southern california, you said
- some corporate lawyer from l.a. you met at work
- i'd like him, you said
- like hell
-
- i've been going through some stuff
- what's left of what we were
- see? over there?
- some of your old letters to me
- some photographs of you and some guy who looks a lot like me
- only a lot happier
- oh and here's some stupid christmas cards addressed to both of us
- i'll probably start getting a few more soon
- now that the holidays are here
-
- i guess now
- the thing that will remind me most of you
- is all the blood
- spattered all over the room
- i'll never be able to get out the stains, you know
- you can't hire cleaners for that
- well it doesn't matter i guess
- not a whole lot does anymore
-
- you knew that i loved you
- you knew that i needed you
- you knew i gave up my world for you
- you knew i hate lawyers
- you knew i hate los angeles
- but with all you knew
- you didn't know why
- you had to ask
-
- as i stabbed and stabbed
- as the life bled out of you
- you cried out, sure, at first
- but you didn't scream
- you just cried
- you just wanted to know why
-
- you told me many times that your heart belonged to me
- so tonight
- i repossessed it
-
- sorry about all the mess

- i was hanging around at one of those poetry reading night
- kinda things, and felt guilty for not contributing. i
- whipped this up, figured it'd keep em from ever asking
- again, but maybe i just have weird friends... they kinda
- liked it. one of em decided to leave a copy lying around
- the house for when his ex-wife comes to visit.
-
- comment, bitch, or criticize if ya feel like it.
-
- and uh, all characters and situations are fictional, any resemblence
- to incidents and persons, living or dead is purely coincidental.
- (just in case)
