  17. One time I was dreaming in the morning when someone came and rang
  18. the doorbell to my house in real life. I heard this but I
  19. interpreted it as some guy was standing in my room ringing a bell. I
  20. suppose I was actually half awake, because I then heard my mother
  21. say 'oh, someone is at the door' and I woke up and yelled "No, it's
  22. just this guy in my room ringing a bell!". Needless to say, she
  23. thought I was insane. ^_^

  25. On a (perhaps) related subject: What happens when you have to use
  26. the bathroom in the middle of the night? I find that I will
  27. incorporate this need into the dream. So, I get all sorts of dreams
  28. about needing to use the bathroom badly, and either (a) there are no
  29. bathrooms to be found for miles around, (b) there are some but they
  30. cannot be used for some reason (dirty, or broken, whatever), or (c)
  31. I do use the bathroom in my dream, but because I don't in RL, it
  32. still feels that I have to use the bathroom so I will tend to wake
  33. up. Maybe this is incorporating physical things.
  34.     Also, sometimes I have dreams where in the dream I can't
  35. open my eyes. I think this is maybe me noticing that my eyes are
  36. closed in real life?
  37.     Finally, every so often I will have a dream where I notice
  38. that I am paralyzed, I think this is me noticing that I am paralyzed
  39. in real life (during a dream, apparently the brain doesn't send the
  40. right signals to the muscles so that we don't REALLY go jump out the
  41. window etc. ^_^).
