  20. I read somewhere a while back (specific type of person aren't I) that the
  21. paralysis experienced is actually a type of severing of of the spinal cord
  22. at the brain stem.  Like a message blocker.  Studies had shown that people
  23. who have had trauma to this area (not an actual severing of the spinal cord
  24. as in paraplegia etc) have experienced physical movement when dreaming. 
  25. One man actually punched his wife while dreaming that he was in a
  26. fight...at least that was his story.
