- In article <1ht8usINNbjc@shelley.u.washington.edu>
- zyzzy@stein.u.washington.edu (Zyzzy Galore) writes in reply to my request
- for "clarification":
-
- What are the contours of hyperreality? Dunno, but thinking about the
- futurists, the Dadas, the punks, and reading stuff like Storming the
- Reality Studio goes a long way.
-
- What's the recipe?
-
- Well, every recipe needs a cook, check? So, look for "sites" with a high
- (re)transmission density of things that can be identified with
- "hyperreality". _Storming the Reality Studio_ has a whole bunch of
- ingredients: Derrida next to Burroughs, Kathy "Ackering" Gibson, selections
- from the _Mississippi Review_ special issue on Cyberpunk (or was that the
- _Missouri Review_), und so weiter. . . What kind a cake do they bake?
-
- Why does Penn (sans Teller) read Gibson's _Agrippa_, 'destroying' a
- copy, into a tape recorder, in order to re-transcribe its narrative as a
- live reading at Symphony Space before a paying audiance in New York? And
- who paid for the copy he 'destroyed' in reading? Who was in the audiance?
-
- Get going: I'm gone.
