  27.   You're right, Caller ID _is_ wank.  I've been hiding out in 
  28. Alt.Cpunk.Tech for months now because of stuff like that.
  29.    The real question is, where do we go from here?  Looking back ( as 
  30. everyone seems to be doing in the 90's), Punk left it's mark on a whole 
  31. generation of people and then almost disappeared from the planet.  
  32. Cyberpunk is growing and maturing, but to what end?  Where do we take it 
  33. from here?  We have this wonderful new toy with which we can wreak sever 
  34. havoc, benificail or otherwise, on society.  Do we dare use it?  Do we 
  35. really want the cliched Teeny-bopper swaying around to Industial-Country 
  36. music and swooning at the sight of Liquid Crystal ( A'la the Fashion bit 
  37. in M2K's newest issue...)  Bodicies?  It could be fun, but do we really 
  38. want to go to all of the trouble?  
  39.    There is another posibilty in sight, we, as cyberpunks, could go the 
  40. way of the SCA and certain Secret societies, satying in the background 
  41. and using subtle pressure to keep humanity away from the `dark future', 
  42. and to have really neat-o techie toys made for us.  
  43.    I'm not biased either way, but both do sound interesting.
