  33. I remember reading somewhere 2 or three years ago about some scheme where 
  34. upon you would be able to 'buy' a life long telephone number that would 
  35. be the same wherever you moved.  Supposedly advanced telephone technology 
  36. would dothis for us.  I guess they'd have several 'Area Codes' that would
  37. be for these special numbers.  Or some such scheme.  Anybody but me here 
  38. of this?

  40. And on Telemarketing calls.
  41.   For the last year I have had a little box hooked into my phone system.  
  42. When I activate thsi, anybody who calls gets a little voice that tells 
  43. the to 'punch in their secret number now'.  I can set a 4 digit #, and 
  44. pass it to only those people I want to talk with at any and all times.
  45. If you don't have that number, my phone system won't let you reach me.
  46. Handy little box for having a quiet evening without telemarketing scum.
  47.   I bought mine out of a damark catalogue for $69.00

  49. Not much to do with Caller ID, which down here was just made illegal,
  50. But helpful if you want some peace and quiet, but you want Mom to be able 
  51. to call you without any hassles.  And you can always change your secret # 
  52. if you ever have a 'Fatal Attraction" ex-girlfriend problem.  A lot 
  53. cheaper than paying to change your phone #.
