- Well, it's really interesting to read about all you people who
- won't answer the phone unless you _know_ the number. Not answering (or
- letting your answering machine get it when the number is blocked is a
- slightly different thing, I'm talking about not answering if you don't know
- who it is). Maybe the day that the hospital phones, trying to tell you
- that your wife has been in a serious accident, and you ignore the call
- because you're too good to answer for an unknown number will teach you
- something. Sure, it's your discretion, but you should use your discretion
- on when to use your discretion. Many important phone calls can come from
- anywhere. If a loved one's car breaks down in an area where CID service
- isn't supported and no number is sent, payphones that AUTOMATICALLY block
- their numbers etc...etc... It's nice to have CID if a person harasses you,
- pranks you, telemarketers won't leave you alone etc..etc..etc.. But
- shutting yourself off from anyone you don't know can be dangerous.
- Especially if you use call screen and your answering machine won't even
- take the message! Just my opinion.
