-
- If it's an attempt, it's a *really* lame attempt. If I want to
- start an alt.games.vampire group, I don't start posting 1000 line
- posts about Vampire in alt.config. Posting stuff that would fit
- the charter of the proposed group in alt.config or news.groups
- has never been a good way to convince people a group is needed.
- The last time I remember seeing that kind of thing was
- misc.activism.progressive, and that didn't go over too well
- either. Again -- Joel is either playing another joke or dumb.

-
- If he's serious, given his track record, he's going to have to
- prove himself before people will take him seriously. This is a
- valid attitude. If I flunk out of university because I don't
- take it seriously, they're going to be less likely to let me in
- again. Past actions count.
-
- >If this is another joke, the

-
- True enough. It's worth making readership aware of his past
- record, but I think that's been done adequately.
-
- >The key point here is that either way, whining about it won't
- >help. So if you insist on bothering the readership of two gropus, could you at

- >Joel? Thank you.
-
- Uh, yeah, I know I'm a real annoyance and I'm sure these two
- discussion groups are real anxious to get back to, well, ASCII
- cows. Look, I don't think people who propose groups as a joke
- should be listened to. Joke alt groups are part of the reason
- so many sites don't get the useful alt groups. Therefore, I
- think Joel's motivations *are* fit topic for discussion. We
- really don't need another group that'll serve no purpose but
- another place for Joel to cross-post.
