- my 2 cents worth is this...the person who claimed that there
- is no such thing as european culture or african culture does have
- a point....europe is a continent, and people from different areas
- approach things from dofferent people, and the same holds true for
- africa....in response to the person who argued that following
- that logic, there isn't french or german or whatever culture does have
- a point, but the french, as a group might be said to have more
- in common with each other than would say a french man and a german....
- if nothing else, language ties the smaller divisions together.
-
- also, i don't see what is wrong with maintaing one's heritage, the past
- makes us who we are....there are people who do take maintaining the group
- identity too far, but there is no reason why African-Americans can't remember
- their past and incorporate it into the future, any more than it would be
- wrong for me to value my heritage.........
