- I have been told that the filesystem is readable by PC's - so either
- High Sierra, or ISO9660. My bet is ISO9660. It functions in concert
- with the "Megadrive", or uses normal Audio CD's, or CD+G (CD+Graphics,
- not to be confused with CD+I, CD+Video, or PhotoCD). It does not show
- PhotoCD's (but potentially could with special software and new EPROMS).
-
- One thing to note is Sega has claimed to limit usage of "foreign"
- software outside of its prescribed market area - so a Japanese
- Megadrive CDROM will not work on an American Genesis (that's what it's
- called here) CDROM drive. There are apparently 4 market areas -
- North America, Europe, and two divisions of Asia - can't remember
- if Australia is counted with Europe or not. Switching EPROMS between
- the Japanese and the American drives will allow the foreign software
- to play. I believe that it's either a directory or volume label
- "bitmap", or else a particular directory entry's existence which
- differentiates the software between regions.
