- >Now you know who Jammer is. Who are you?
- "Who am I?" asks Mary MerryTail. "Outside... About 5'3" (shoulder
- height to Ignatz or Tanais). Plump'n'cuddly, long blonde hair,
- grey-green-blue eyes, round cheeks, big smile, big blue/grey glasses.
- And don't forget my MerryTail... long, blonde, prehensile and usually
- with coloured highlights or bows or something fun. It's something
- I've always wanted and I've found it here, along with peace and
- freinds to treasure. It's teh extra hand I've always wanted to stop
- me bumping into things or dropping them or being clumsy - one more
- limb to ward off things that ae difficult to cope with. Physically,
- as I'm much more short-sighted in one eye than the other, my eyes
- focus individually - left eye sees you here, right sees you there,
- composite is *almost in the middle - so I don't always get myself in
- the right place. Can barely catch and throw and get nervous at
- rapidly-oncoming objects anyway! Mentally, I'm often so far insde my
- own head that I don't quite get my attention far enough outside to
- see things - but that's been changing a lot lately, as I've been
- growing up this year.
-
- Inside... Usually I'm shy at first and a lot of people can overwhelm
- me. When I'm happy I often get excited, jump up and down, bounce
- around a lot, wave my arms around. I worry that this might upset
- people, but it's me! I get excited, it shows! That's the way I am and
- I hope people can enjoy that rather than find it threatening. I worry
- and think a lot about what others think.... When I'm quiet, I'm very
- quiet and abstracted, far away inside my head or in a book
-
- Character-wise - I'm stubborn. I never really know whether astrology
- works, but I *am that typical taurus - bull-headed, earthy, caring,
- round and prone to throat problems. So many bouts of laryngytis I
- lost the sqeaky voice and am now pleasantly (to me) husky, though I
- still squeak a bit in excitement.
- I'm liking much more stuff about myself as I settle down in myself
- and my life. I'm less insecure now - I *have a life!
- These days I'm lucky and happy to share it with Ignatz mouse (who is
- probably going to have something to say to this when he gets back
- from Jersey on Monday (the Channel Island not the State) - hurry back
- love, I miss you...
-
- I'm a bookworm, I've been reading for as long as I can remember (age
- 3 or 4 for certain). That's part of living in my head. I love music
- but I'm tone deaf or something, so I can only sing in tune here in
- the Place - or if people can stand the racket. I like to do creative
- things - cooking, making jam, sewing, knitting... pottery as well,
- although I haven't finished a real one yet. As Ignatz and Neil the
- Wolfman can testify, my last pot just fell to pieces - I didn't throw
- it, I dropped it and now it's modern art!
-
- I've been a computer writer for two and a bit years, slightly longer
- if you count freelance (Kateri - really, it's great fun. Go for it!)
- Now I'm pupating into an editor, commissioning peole to write for me,
- editing and dealing with the words and the pages... This has been one
- of the best changes in my life this year. I really love my work and I
- seem to be (am! am! people have told me and I trust the telling and
- feel it's true) - am doing it well.
-
- So...this is who I am! Hello! Jammer - thank you for your words and
- what you've given. I'm glad to have been able to say this"
- Mary MeryTail hears kitten's words and toast and raises her glass in
- agreement and celebration
-
- >'to US....to the spirit...to shared
- >pain and shared joy...to 1993!'"
- >

- ><CRASH!!!!!!>
- "oh yes, m'friend! To US! To the people, the Place, the joy, the pain
- and the love"
- <<<Crash-tinkly>>
-
- Mary MerryTail wanders over to the Bi-Bulb to see if he wants any help
- getting the snow out of his fedora - she knows how many corners and nooks
- there are in a hat like that and it snow fun getting cold water down the
- back of your neck!
- Emmett - that'll be *the Emmett Chapman will it? Neat instruments, those
- sticks. Do you guys know All Lovers are Deranged, from Dave Gilmour's About
- Face
-
- "and burning wine - intoxicates and takes all caution in it's wake
- but then all lovers are deranged.
- The break of day will make your spirits fly
- but you can't know what it means
- unless you're seventeen...
- We have the right to think we're right,
- we're addicts feigning shame
- but then all lovers are deranged."
- Dance with me, Bi-Bulb?
