- "Actually, you aren't necessarily late, Jenny was due to be born on New
- Years Day, give or take a week. She just decided to show up early for the
- Christmas presents we think. Certainly she got more than anyone else in
- either of our families." :-)
-
- >To a healthy daughter and a quick recovery for your wife.

- "Both of them are doing well now, though it will still be some time
- before Robyn is completely over it."
- "Someone posted a while ago something about all of the congratulations
- going to the infant, and very little to the mother, or something like that.
- I can't find the article now. For those who want to know, Robyn was in
- labour for 32 hours, the last 10 of which were augmented by a syntocin
- drip, which made the contractions far more painful. Finally Jenny was
- delivered by forceps giving Robyn a 3rd degree tear. That is about as bad
- as child birth can get without surgery. And afterwards, she didn't care.
- Despite all the things that had happened to her, her only concern was for
- Jenny. Similar things were happening with me. I think that the whole
- reaction is an instinctive one, and thus everyone is more concerned with
- the child than the mother, at least until their brains start to work
- again."
