  12. choice to the crowd at callahans, is ready to toast the new year here...

  15. toast...1992 -- 'what a long strange trip it's been'...last new year's
  16. day i spent watching "wings" on the discovery channel...10 hours of
  17. it in fact...because my house guest enjoys that sort of thing...my
  18. house guest was a dear friend who flunked out of school and went away
  19. for the semester and summer...and when he came back this fall he found
  20. a new dear friend...so we are still friends, but he doesn't need me
  21. any more...

  23. the reason i spent one of the most important days of the year with
  24. somebody else than my beloved t.c.....he was in texas for awhile...but
  25. he didn't particularly like the supercollider folx and unfortunately
  26. the feeling was mutual...so he came home ... and i am glad, because
  27. this is home.

  29. we had an unexpected addition to our family unit...a bouncy baby 15
  30. year old... my youngest stepson, lee.  he got into trouble and for the
  31. second time in 6 years his mother said that we either had to take him
  32. or she was going to have him put away...since we should never have let
  33. him go back the first time, we said okay...but this time it is
  34. legal...the lawyer said he is ours...we paid the fee and she can't
  35. have him back...no matter what she does!  and it's good....
  36.  
  37. i was diagnosed as clinically depressed after being sick (literally)
  38. for a year...and we are working on getting that fixed.  it put lots of
  39. things at risk (including my job) but things are more secure now...
  40.  
  41. i had a spiritual awakening when i went back to "the land" and spent a
  42. week in the wilderness with women and music and myself...
  43.  
  44. i heard spider robinson sing...in person
  45.  
  46. here in the Place...people have come and people have gone...and i have
  47. found some friends who are forever...we did some major
  48. partying...didi's surprise party comes to mind...we all did that and
  49. it inspired her to do nick chopper's birthday in oz.....she organized
  50. it... from her bed in geneva where she nearly died...and i helped her
  51. post it.

  53. there has been lots of joy here....and some sadness...and lots and
  54. lots of fun...and love.
  55.  
  56. and that brings me to my toast...'to US....to the spirit...to shared
  57. pain and shared joy...to 1993!'"
