  22. One silent, unseen tear rolls down Tanais' muzzle. It's a time for 
  23. moving on he knows. But there is also pain in letting go. It *must* 
  24. happen in order to move on -- he knows and he now has more in common 
  25. with Merry Tail than in 8 years of their past relationship.

  27. "This hurts," he thinks, "but it has to be" and the last of his 
  28. tequila is drained from the jug. He thinks of the uncertainty of the 
  29. future and the frightening shadows in the past (that, for this night 
  30. don't seem so frightening) and wonders just how different 1993 will 
  31. be.

  33. But love and friendship is important -- life would be unbearable 
  34. without at least one of them (he stops in RL to pat Cicero, our cat 
  35. -- often mistaken for a meat loaf). Tanais looks over past threads to 
  36. check the status of the Dalek (i.e. is he still in the hot tub?) and 
  37. he prepares to wash and groom himself. ("Mmm. This is gonna feel 
  38. *good!*" he says to himself).

  40. Tanais stretches and yawns... he feels it in his delicate bones. 1993 
  41. will be a year of love, of  searching and ultimately of finding -- if 
  42. he's really honest with himself, it'll be a bit like 1992 only less 
  43. of a roller coaster ride.
