  16. Taa-daa! Tanais perks up as she proffers a hat he said he liked in 
  17. his direction. It's red, and circular, with a gold braid and a swirly 
  18. deep blue pattern  on the top. There is no peak or rim, it's 
  19. perfectly circular if you looked down on it. Worn like a skull cap, 
  20. it perches rakishly from Tanais' head and two brown ears pop out from 
  21. each side. The right ear is wiggling every now and then -- a sign of 
  22. deep happiness.

  24. His tail is perked up -- it's a *perfect* Hat. With great 
  25. satisfaction he notices it can be turned inside out so that the black 
  26. lining looks like a black skull cap for those "monochrome" days, or 
  27. when he's feeling colourful he can wear it as it was intended -- just 
  28. like Too Ticky's in "Moominland Midwinter" -- one of Tanais' 
  29. favourite books.

  31. Tanais begins a dance. He dances around the tables and chairs. He 
  32. skips across the Dalek and over the bar. He smiles, he prances like a 
  33. horse, he is joined by Kateri and falls over a wet patch of spilled 
  34. beer laughing and giggling.

  36. "Oh my..." he giggled..." Oh *Goodness me* [gasp] a dance was what I 
  37. needed all [pant] along". I guess [pant] if you want to get ahead, 
  38. get a hat.

  40. This tired fox will see in 1993 a very happy creature indeed.
