  13. Our recent posting talking about 800 service spawned lots of email
  14. requesting further information. Therefore, I am posting our full
  15. information file about the 800 service:

  17. CNS has national 800 service to the Internet available at only $8 per hour.
  18. CNS is connected to the Internet via a T1, and carries all features of the
  19. Internet, including telnet, ftp, irc, gopher and wais. CNS carries all
  20. newsgroups, including ClarinNet Newgroups. All features are available
  21. through easy-to-use menus, or full UNIX shells (ksh and csh are available.)
  22. Type of connections supported include uucp, slip, and point-to-point. All
  23. ports are served by Telebit T-3000, capable of of up to 38.4K baud. CNS
  24. has full customer support during working hours, and a 24 hour technical
  25. emergency line.

  27. When calling a Colo Springs number (719-520-1700) or a Denver number
  28. (303-758-2656), all services are $2 per login hour. When using the 800
  29. number, all services are $8 per hour. CNS is also available through telnet
  30. (address cscns.com). $2 per hour are charged for telnet connections.

  32. There is a one-time charges for setup, depending on the type of connection
  33. to be set up:
  34.   
  35.       for a dail-in account   $35
  36.       for a uucp account      $45
  37.       for a point-to-point    $45
  38.       for a slip              $75
  39.  
  40. Start-up payments are charged when the account is first set up. Hourly
  41. time payments are made on the first work day of every month for the month
  42. before.  A minimum charge of $10 is made every month. (NOTE: This is a
  43. minimum payment, and NOT a surcharge.)

  45. To sign up, you may call CNS via voice at 719-592-1240. You may also sign
  46. up on line by connecting to the CNS system.. log in as "new", and use
  47. passwd "newuser". You will be given an option to subscribe. All major
  48. credit cards are accepted: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express.
  49. Since the 800 number is available to only established user accounts, you
  50. must connect to one of the following numbers:

  56. Invoicing accounts are possible, but require signup over the phone.. a
  57. credit verification is made. Please call voice 719-592-1240 during working
