  15. Many thanks to all those who have responded to my initial
  16. query about the mystery photo. To recap:

  18. I bought a photo in an antique shop this summer which had
  19. been printed on a postcard back - it was never mailed so
  20. it has no message or postmark.  It's an interesting picture,
  21. showing an antique car and a couple of men, one of who MAY
  22. be handcuffed.  I'd estimate this photo was taken perhaps
  23. 1910 - 1925.

  25. If you can identify the car, license plate, or tell whether
  26. the man is really handcuffed, please drop me a line with your
  27. opinion.

  29. You can find it via anonymous ftp on ftp.cse.nau.edu in the directory
  30. "Pub/Geo" as "carr2.gif".  This machine is also known as sunset.cse.nau.edu

  33. In response to suggestions from those looking at the first
  34. version, I've HEAVILY enhanced certain critical portions of
  35. this version - much more so than would normally be done - both
  36. with contrast and sharpness (to the point of introducing noise).

  38. Due to the added detail - it's big - about 675K in 256 gray scale
  39. gif format.
