  14. Sorry about the cross posting - I'd like to reach as wide
  15. an appropriate audience as possible -

  17. Last summer while looking for antique photos in shops, I ran
  18. across a very interesting "real photo" postcard, which I'd
  19. estimate is pre - 1920.  I have this available for ftp in
  20. .gif format from naucse.cse.nau.edu (134.114.64.70 - also
  21. known as "sunset.cse.nau.edu" ) It's in the "Geo" directory.

  23. Anyway, this is a very interesting photo.  It shows what
  24. appears to be a couple of men in a wild setting (mountain
  25. in background with either birch or aspen trees).  The car
  26. has just forded a stream, and they are out by the side.
  27. Lots of backcountry / camping gear stowed on the car.
  28. Note the kerosene lantern hanging on the back spare tire.
  29. Now, one of the men facing away from the camera has his
  30. hands at a very unusual angle behind his back - he appears
  31. to be handcuffed (although it's hard to tell).  I have no
  32. information on this picture other than what you see.

  34. Can anyone tell me is this a Model "A" or some other similar
  35. vintage auto.  Does the fellow look to you like he's handcuffed?
  36. The clothes are somewhat reminiscient of World War 1 uniforms.

  38. This is a 256 gray scale gif photo. This is as clear as it gets,
  39. the original is somewhat fuzzy...this is an albumem photo (again
  40. probably about 1910 - 1925).
