- That is a good book and a good series from PBS. Maddi's post fits into what
- I was going to bring up about Joseph Campbell and this topic. Campbell also
- says that religions create myths as metaphors for the mystery inherent in
- the universe. He goes on to say that problems arise when the metaphors are
- taken literally, as metaphysical reality. Campbell draws the analogy of a
- person walking into a restaurant, seeing 'beefsteak' written on the menu,
- and proceeding to eat the menu. Does this sound like any fundies you know of?
