- Tru 'nuff. I have a couple of friends who have been raped, and what I get
- from knowing them, and from beingclose to their boy friends (who were _not_
- their rapists) is enlightening, and awful.
-
- The most important thing is the pain of these poor victim's next
- relationships. The two girls I mentioned before. In each case, they loved
- and desired their boyfriend, but needed a huge amount of help and suppport
- for sex to be a part of their relationships. As far as I know, neither of
- these girls has had any relationship, not even friendly, with their _rapists_
- since. In both cases, they were guys they knew, and since have _avoided_.
- If they had not, it would scream of larger problems, not of a reconcilliation.
-
- In my humble (and formed and -in-formed) opinion, rape is willful assault.
- If someone says no, the only way that a guy has justification to continue is
- if _she_ continues (of course this applies to homosexual relationships as
- well, but my experience there is more limited). I am of the cavalier attitude
- that the rapist should be castrated for his crime (don't give me crap about
- female rapists, I've never met a victim of one).
-
- For being 18, I know too much of this and things like it. Growing up in
- NYC makes you too jaded, and I'm sure other cities are the same.
- Dealing with shit like this sucks.
