-
- Here is the proof: I have personally observed Him. All the devotees in
- the Hare Krishna movement have observed Him. Many others have observed
- Him as well.
-
- Here is the method: Chant the Hare Krishna mantra with all sincerity,
- and give up all hostility, resistance, resentment, reluctance,
- disbelief, or whatever you call it, to the prospect of meeting the
- Supreme Godhead.
-
- Sincerely,
- Kalki Dasa

-
- The chanting works because God is not different from His name. Since God
- is Absolute ("unmixed" or "unadulterated"), He is not different from any
- of His qualities. Chanting God's name fixes the mind on one of God's
- qualities, and therefore on God Himself. In the Bhagavad-gita, God makes
- the statement that He will reveal Himself to one who fixes the mind in
- this way.
-
- In the material world, a living being and his name are different ("the
- map is not the thing mapped"). I cannot chant your name and expect to be
- in direct contact with you, since you are a person but your name is just
- a symbol. But God's name is not just a symbol, it is also God Himself.
- This is the meaning of "Absolute."
-
- Cultivating the proper attitude by giving up hostility (etc.) toward God
- is necessary because God will not normally interfere with our free will.
- If someone does not want to meet God, then God will not impose except
- under extraordinary circumstances. Even in the relative material world,
- if we want to make someone's acquaintance, we generally try to cultivate
- a favorable attitude toward that person. This is just the decent thing
- to do, and it certainly makes the other person more inclined to reveal
- himself to us.
-
- Sincerely,
- Kalki Dasa

- Yep. Sure looks like science to me. NOT.
