- Kalki, I've always wondered about that. I consider my 'self' to be made up
- of both my consciousness (self-awareness, what have you) *and* the memories
- that make up my life and self. If you plugged different memories into my
- awareness, I would be a different person.
- In this light, what possible benefit or punishment do I have to look
- forward to, if I won't remember this life? It won't be *me* then, it'll
- be a person or animal or plant or virus, substantially similar to me in
- outlook, perhaps, but not me.

- I.e. in this view, what practical difference does reincarnation make to
- me? (Even if there *are* people that remember past lives, the odds are so
- low that I'd be one that it doesn't seem worth the bother...)
