  38. Sorry, I was being a bit unfair -- I answered the question you asked.
  39. Briefly, people have taken viruses apart and put them back together.  The
  40. components are lifeless; when the components are intermixed [an assemblage
  41. of lifeless matter] they spontaneously reform in living viruses.  It's a
  42. well known experiment -- I can dig up the references if you want them.
