  13.     Today I noticed that the back cover of my copy of _Borges: A Reader_
  14. (they mean that the book is a reader, not Borges) bears the legend
  15.

  18.     Whenever I come to a new city I look in the telephone book to see
  19. how many people there are named Null and Void.  Baltimore has three
  20. Nulls and two Voids.  Philadelphia has many Nulls but no Voids.  While
  21. we were reading the phone book last week, and discovered that there is a
  22. woman in Philadelphia named Paula Hlavinka, which I think must be the
  23. most beautiful name in the world.

  25.     One of the authors of a textbook I am reading is William W. Wadge.
  26. Ranjit points out that it is faster to say his name than his initials.

  28.     The Engineering School has automatic software to provide a user with
  29. a choice of usernames when they first get their computer account.  The
  30. list is generated from their real name.  I noticed (too late) that one
  31. person, Jun Y. O, was offered, and chose, the username `o'.  You can
  32. write to Jun at `o@eniac.seas.upenn.edu'.

  34.     Sometimes I play a phone book game: I pick a first name and try to
  35. find someone in the phone book with that name.  You don't want to pick
  36. `John', of course; that would be too easy.  `Siobhan' was good.  I was
  37. at Rosa's house and we decided to look for `Rosa'.  I guessed `Nunez'.
  38. Rosa guessed `Rodriguez'.  Rosa won.  There were four Rosa Rodriguezes.
