  22.     barrel car, the one my myriad siblings would take their driving lessons
  23.     in; it was too unpleasant a car to choose to drive when one of the
  24.     other family's cars might be available.

  26.     when my sister ruth learned to drive, she had the bad habit of grinding
  27.     gears.  dad was kinda hesitant about letting her drive any of the other
  28.     cars.  but the ease of shifting gears in the escort improved.

  31.     gear teeth that had been worn smooth.

  40. It was a 83' Horizon.   All the other lousiness is true however.  In
  41. fact, we did have an 86' Escort, but the engines just burnt out in that.
